Stitches -- strange request

Postby Queen Amidala » Sun Jul 25, 2010 5:43 pm

DS is very upset at us today, as we didn't "let" him look in a mirror before he had stitches last night. Um. Truthfully, the thought never even crossed my mind. But - now that he has said it - it doesn't surprise me in the least. He has always had a keen interest for "what's inside." DS was asking the doctor questions throughout. The doctor was awesome at answering all questions and talked through what he was doing. But - DS couldn't see. Now today he is curious about the type of needle used, what type of knot the doctor made and how actually he put them in. :drama
I have been searching this afternoon through our library's on-line catalog, looking for a book on stitches. I have been totally unsuccessful.
Any tips on what to search? Better yet, any book recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Suzie, you gotta love YouTube for stuff like this! Try:

Though video might be a bit too much for DS...it might be for me (I'm trembling just looking at the options...)

Goodness! I never even thought about YouTube having video!! :drama I clicked on that link and, um, I quickly hit the 'pause' button -- not sure I actually want to watch it! Ironically, that laceration on the back of the hand -- that looks exactly like DS's head wound!!! About the same length and, um, same depth. :drama
Thanks. I am sure DS will enjoy it. Crazy little boy.

My son asked me today if he was going to have a scar.
I told DS that we were going to get some cream that was suppose to lighten the scar. He said: :yikes But I WANT the scar!!!
:duh Boys! :rotfl
